


Domaine Colette Gros


The Gautheron family has tended vines in Chablis for five generations. Alain Gautheron, his wife, and their son carry on these traditions at this splendid family wine estate. The family follows the Lutte Raisonnée philosophy in their vineyards. The current head of the Domaine, Alain Gautheron who works with his son, Cyril, in an effort to carry on the family’s traditions throughout their 20 hectare property
Alain and Cyril grow their Chardonnay vines in the Premier Cru Fourneaux. This is the south facing portion of the slope and very hot, heavy "Fourneaux" or "oven" effect.
1er Cru Fourneaux is located on the Fleys village and faces the field. The plots are very steep and exposed full south on Kimmeridgian soils consists of marl clay-limestone with shallow ground and a very stony ground that give the wines the minerality and the typical acidity of Chablis.
Gautheron produces two wines under Domaine Colette Gros: one Chablis made in stainless steel for purity and freshness and the Premier Cru Fourneaux matured in barrel to give it more complexity.
