Terras Gauda

Grupo Terras Gauda is made up of four wineries: Bodegas Terras Gauda, Viñedos y Bodegas Pittacum, Quinta Sardonia and Compañía de Vinos Heraclio Alfaro; it also includes the vegetable cannery A Rosaleira.
Present in four of Spain's principal wine regions, Terras Gauda has established itself as one of the top winemaking groups in Spain. Geographic expansion is one of the pillars of the Group’s philosophy. It respects the diversity and idiosyncrasies of each area, sharing and capitalizing on experience and knowledge.
Bodegas Terras Gauda was founded in the O Rosal Valley, within the Rías Baixas Denomination of Origin, with initial production of 37,000 bottles of the 1990 vintage. Today, they sell over 1.5 million bottles in more than 45 countries.
Their 160 hectares of vineyards provide the grapes to make their wines in terms of both quantity and quality.
Bodegas Terras Gauda’s main objective is to produce the highest quality wines with unique personalities, using noble varieties grown in ideal conditions and vinified according to the area’s tradition, crafted with the most advanced technology and the utmost care.
In 2002, Bodegas Terras Gauda acquired Viñedos y Bodegas Pittacum, in the Bierzo Denomination of Origin, to produce high-quality red wines from an old vineyard growing the native Mencía variety.
In 2010, they added Grupo Quinta Sardonia in the Douro Valley, where they cultivate the vines and produce high-end red wines under the principles of biodynamics.
They completed our expansion strategy in 2018 with their debut in the Rioja Qualified Denomination of Origin, becoming the majority shareholder in a winery and its vineyard in the village of Alfaro and re-launching it with a new image and brand name: Heraclio Alfaro.
In 2008, they diversified their catalogue with Conservas A Rosaleira, a traditional canned vegetable factory, the oldest in Galicia, founded in O Rosal in 1940, reaffirming their commitment to the area.
