La Croix de Beaucaillou

2010

Bordeaux

France

La Croix Ducru Beaucaillou is not a second wine as it comes from vines not used to produce Ducru Beaucaillou. Those vines are located further in land, close to Chateau Talbot. The vines for Chateau Ducru Beaucaillou are placed closer to the chateau, not far from the Gironde. There is also a special cuvee of La Croix Ducru Beaucaillou, Cuvee Colbert which is the same wine with a different aging process. However not much Cuvee Colbert is produced as the average production is only 500 cases per vintage.
Lalande-Borie, comes from fruit grown in parcels that were purchased from their St. Julien neighbor, Chateau Lagrange in 1970, Chateau Fourcas Borie, which comes from the Listrac in the Haut Medoc region and Chateau Hortevie which was purchased by Bruno Borie in 2006. Chateau Hortevie is located in the St. Julien appellation. However, Hortevie is no longer in production.
