The aromas are both restrained and intricate, featuring blue-black small berry fruit, floral potpourri, river stone, orange pith, dry jarrah twigs, as well as hints of venison, dried mushroom, and choc mocha. The palate offers a smooth, plush entry transitioning into vibrant, mouth-watering acidity. Fine, powdery tannins provide a cozy texture without overwhelming. Flavors reminiscent of blackcurrant, nori, and toasty cedar linger. The vintage experienced moderate spring temperatures and a warm, dry summer, leading to a ripe, soft tannin expression. Notably, the Cabernet grapes from the northern Margaret River region contribute to this wine's distinctive character. After undergoing fermentation in individual vineyard sections, the wine was aged for 18 months in 100% French Oak (46% new, 54% 1-4 years old), resulting in a deeply colored, structured, and enduring wine.
