Austria, a sommelier’s dream and hidden gem. Upon joining the EU in 1995, the winelands of Austria have seen a meteoric rise in popularity. A surge in investment, markets & tourism all providing a base to raise the bar in viticulture & winemaking. Unique soils & a cool-continental climate at circa 45 degrees latitude yield wines unique to place.

Austria is renowned for its production of white wines, particularly Grüner Veltliner and Riesling. Grüner Veltliner, the country's flagship grape, thrives in Austria's cool climate and rocky soils, producing wines with vibrant acidity and flavours of green apple, white pepper, and citrus. Riesling, on the other hand, excels in the country's steep vineyards, yielding wines with intense aromatics and a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity.
