The Château d'Issan exhibits a captivating purple color with striking purple highlights. Its nose is intense, offering a delightful array of red fruits, including black cherry and creme de cassis. Subtle floral nuances of violet, toasted hazelnut, and pepper further enhance the aromatic profile. From the very first sip, this wine impresses with its smooth and velvety texture, revealing a dense and voluminous character. The tannins, exuding rare elegance, provide excellent support. The palate is adorned with flavors of crisp blackberry, black olive, and spices, showcasing freshness and refinement. The wine continues to evolve gracefully, culminating in a vibrant, long-lasting finish that lingers on the palate. Ducru-Beaucaillou's 50 hectares of vineyards (Cabernet Sauvignon 65% Merlot 25% Cabernet Franc 5% and Petit Verdot 5%) lie on deep large-stone gravel beds enriched with alluvial soil deposits and with a high clay content.
