Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Champs Gains

The 2020 Puligny-Montrachet Les Champs Gains 1er Cru is tightly wound on the nose with Golden Delicious, flint and chalk dust aromas, gaining intensity in the glass. The palate is well balanced, quite sapid, a Puligny that gets the saliva flowing with quite an intense and persistent finish. After fermentation on indigenous yeasts, the wine is then aged for a year in barrels, with barely a quarter of new barrels, before spending an additional 3 to 4 months in vat, to finish harmonizing and regain this right tension, always impeccably defined in the wines of Jean-Baptiste. Ageing for 1 year in barrels (25% new barrels) then 3 months in vat. ABV 13.5%
