100% Syrah. Medium garnet with crimson highlights, this wine exudes intense and enticing aromas of black currant, blackberry, plum, and blueberry, accompanied by hints of sage, bay leaf, black pepper, and cedar. The palate offers a rich and complex experience with well-defined layers of blackberry, red plum, and currant fruit, interwoven with herbal and spicy notes, all carried by velvety matured tannins for a lingering finish. The 2016 vintage experienced a delayed start to picking, a mild ripening period, and a wet winter that benefited the predominantly dry-grown vines. Despite challenges like a cool and windy spring and delayed flowering, careful vineyard management ensured healthy grapes. Maturation took place in a mix of new and seasoned French and American oak hogsheads for 18 months. ABV 14.5%
