Santa Cruz Mountains Heaven & Earth Pinot Noir

Heaven and Earth is an appropriate name for this single vineyard high up in the Santa Cruz Mountains. It's an AVA (American Viticultural Area) that is both striking and unique, being the first defined not by borders but by mountain topography. Vineyards at elevation, following the fog line across three counties of California. 

Arnot-Roberts work with a small parcel from the Heaven and Earth vineyard, situated on a picturesque hill within a secluded coastal valley of Sonoma County. The site was planted in 2004 and sits on organically farmed soils of loam and decomposed schist.

The resulting wine is bright with red fruit, orange peel, herbs and lifted florals. Fermented as 100% whole-cluster, via native yeasts the wine is translucent in colour with a gently savoury tug and chalky tannins. Intense drive without being weighty.
