Crozes-Hermitage

Crozes-Hermitage wines that offer a juicy and sleek expression of Syrah. The wine exhibits classic aromas of blackberry and pepper, while the palate reveals ripe plums and damsons supported by supple tannins. The vineyard spans 6.5 hectares and is home to thirty year-old vines, which grow in free-draining gravel soils. Situated southeast of the Graillot headquarters, known as Les Chenes Verts, Domaine des Lises crafts wines that capture the essence of the Crozes-Hermitage appellation. Hand-harvested grapes are 70% to 100% de-stemmed to focus on the purity and primary fruit freshness that is meant to be enjoyable immediately. After several days of maceration, the wine undergoes a 20- to 30-day fermentation period including malolactic in a combination of oak barrels (5% to 10% new) ranging in formats and concrete tank. Aside from one or two pumpovers to homogenize or aerate, extraction is done entirely by hand with punch downs once or twice a day. ABV 13%
