Domaine Vieux Bourg

After selling up the trading name of ‘Maison Piron’, Dominique went into ‘retirement’ after a career of winemaking spanning 50 years back to 1971. Our disappointment was short lived however, as Dominique emerged once again with his family-owned vineyards under Clos du Vieux Bourg. It makes for a fantastic visit, with the domaine cast in a sympathetically and beautifully restored ancient Priory. The wines of Piron are more focused and breathtaking than ever before, with expressions of Gamay available from top Crus of Morgon and Chénas, plus one of the finest Beaujolais Blancs (Chardonnay) we have had the joy of tasting.
